At this point I won’t even go to the theater to see movies anymore unless it’s a private screening, and not just because it’s free but because they’re always amazing films. However, I totally recommend that you go out and see this one, especially if you’re a fan of Morgan Spurlock.
The best part about this movie… Morgan Spurlock was actually there to answer questions at the end of the screening.
Oh and I saw another Audi R8 on the street today, I was totally surprised by how quiet they are too.
So far we’re two for two on awesome film screenings by the CFC. Sweeney Todd was amazing! Let’s be honest, I like Johnny Depp, he’s a great actor, but it’s about time he wasn’t dress as a fucking pirate. And of course with the combination of Tim Burton there’s not much room for failure. Except for maybe that remake of Willy Wonka…
This time the theater was absolutely packed and we had to sit up close in the second row, my neck was a bit sore afterwards, but it was completely worth it all. It was even the first screening of the movie in Canada, must be why they employed so many security guards to watch the movie crowd. Everybody else will have to wait until the 21st for the release.
For those who aren’t aware, the trailers really don’t give any clue either, this is a musical.
Last night, Laura and I attended a private screening of War Dance. The documentary follows three children, displaced by the civil war in Uganda, as their school hopes attend the Uganda National Music Competition for the first time ever. There really isn’t much I can say about this movie that would do it any justice at all, but it’s a triumphant and heartbreaking tale to say the least.
Check the tickets and show times to see if its playing near you, and if it is you simply must attend. It will influence your life like in ways you can’t even imagine. Even watching the trailer now brings up an enormous well of emotion.
