There’s a ton of stuff going on around here! The most exciting news is that we will be moving on July 15th to a new house!
I’ve updated Catch The Fury.

Today I took a SysAdmin test, most of the questions were BSD specific (I’m mostly a Linux guy) and I almost took out my hacked Ipod Touch to verify a few commands in the console, but I thought that probably qualified as cheating. It’s probably better to get a few of the command flags and stuff wrong than to “cheat”, right?
That said, I love manpages!
& Happy Canada Day!
Because I’m still inundated with questions about IAM Crush once a month or so, no offence to anyone I’ve responded too recently, I think it’s more likely to do with repetitive curve in user sign ups and new users discovering the application. So in an effort to make the system more new user friendly, and hopefully lay the foundation for a whole new era of fun toys for IAM (I’ve got some great ideas already).

This is my first project using the CakePHP framework.
Today I did some work for my friend Chris who runs Tunester.com. I did a quick hack to the admin console of his site to make it a little less intimidating to new users. Instead of a long column of growing links, we have a simple collapsible list (examples below). The site is built on Jamroom, which is written in PHP and makes my job a lot easier. The hack was very simple, a new include to override the makeMenu functions, javascript include of the scriptaculous framework, and very few modifications to the admin.php. Also because of the nature of the hack it works across skins, though occasionally with mixed results depending on the css.

Other things I did today included having lunch with Ryan and meeting Bill Baker of Machinegun Magazine and Eikon Device.
