There’s a ton of stuff going on around here! The most exciting news is that we will be moving on July 15th to a new house!
I’ve updated Catch The Fury.

Today I took a SysAdmin test, most of the questions were BSD specific (I’m mostly a Linux guy) and I almost took out my hacked Ipod Touch to verify a few commands in the console, but I thought that probably qualified as cheating. It’s probably better to get a few of the command flags and stuff wrong than to “cheat”, right?
That said, I love manpages!
& Happy Canada Day!
I just spent the past few hours trying to bring my system drive back to life, but there’s no hope. The power in my apartment is apparently very temperamental and has gone out about 4-5 times since I’ve moved my computer here. & its honestly the only thing plugged in other than my fridge. I don’t even have a microwave, and my stove is gas powered. Anyway, today at about 5pm it claimed the life of one of my drives. I finally gave up as the drive would still not respond correctly, even after formatting, and installed ubuntu over my never used windows drive. Luckily all the work I’ve done this week is safely stored on a separate drive.
Now to get the basics installed so I can finish this project.
I’ve been eating a lot of middle eastern food lately, and surprisingly I’ve also had a number of great conversations. Even a 30-something middle eastern man that had never seen stretched ears before in his life and said he really liked it. I also watched about 30 minutes of the new Aljazeera english channel. I really liked their great simplistic ticker similar to that of the BBC.
Yesterday when I was in the subway, one of the LCD news displays was busted and displaying a very nice custom exception screen with a full terminal displaying all of its internals, including the RSS feed it updates from and its “password”. The program threw a SAX exception on “unknown character at end of file”.
Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera. I’m going to find a charger tomorrow.
I’ve got my next tattoo all sorted, just waiting for the drawing.
